Unique Mutual Fund investor reached 5.18 crore in November, 2024

Indian Mutual Fund industry data shows that mutual funds have added 8 lakh new investors in November, 2024. The number of unique investor counts has reached 5.18 crore compared to 5.10 crore in October 2024.   

In addition, the aggregate folio count of the industry has reached 22.08 crore from 21.65 crore in October 2024.

The average mutual fund AUM has also decreased marginally from Rs. 68.50 lakh crore to Rs. 68.05 lakh crore. Other major trends seen during the month are as follows.

Net inflow..

The industry has seen a net inflow of Rs. 60,300 crore in November 2024 compared to a net inflow of Rs. 2.40 lakh crore in October 2024.

SIP accounts and AUM

The total number of outstanding SIP accounts has increased from 10.12 crore to 10.23 crore. 49.47 lakh new SIPs have been registered during the month while 39.14 lakh SIPs have been discontinued or have completed their tenure.

SIP AUM has also seen an increase from Rs. 13.30 lakh crore in October to Rs. 13.54 lakh crore in November. Monthly SIP contribution, however, has come down slightly from Rs. 25,323 crore to Rs. 25,320 crore.

In terms of folio count, T30 cities have seen a growth of 1.7% taking their folio count from 11.47 crore in October to 11.66 crore in November. AUM in T30 cities has increased from Rs. 54.70 lakh crore to Rs. 55.30 lakh crore in this period.

As far as B30 cities are concerned, their folio count has increased by 2.4% from 10.18 crore in October to 10.42 crore in November. AUM in B30 cities has also increased from Rs. 12.58 lakh crore to Rs. 12.79 lakh crore in November, 2024

Average AUM per folio

Average AUM per folio in T30 cities has a marginal decrease from Rs. 2.71 lakh in October to Rs. 2.70 lakh in November.

The average AUM per folio in B30 cities has seen a similar decrease from Rs. 1.06 lakh in October to Rs. 1.05 lakh in November.    

The combined average AUM per folio (T30 + B30) has decreased from Rs. 1.93 lakh to Rs. 1.92 lakh in November.

The average AUM per folio of the overall industry (retail + corporate) has also recorded a small decline from Rs. 3.11 lakh in October to Rs. 3.08 lakh in November.  

ARN registration & renewals

November 2024 has recorded registration of 5,289 ARNs. Of this, 2,260 registrations have come from individuals while corporate employees account for 2,847 registrations.

When it comes to new ARN registration from states, Maharashtra accounts for about 19% of the ARN registrations while Uttar Pradesh is second with 10% of the registrations. Gujarat has seen the third most registrations at 8%.

4,914 ARNs were renewed in November. 2,686 renewals are from individuals while 2,074 are by corporate employees.
