Chengalpattu District Branch of SIRC : sub regional conference
A 2 day sub regional conference is hosted by the Chengalpattu District Branch of SIRC of the Institute
of Chartered Accountants of India on 11th and 12th August 2023, Friday & Saturday at AM Jain CollegeAuditorium, Meenambakkam, Chennai.

The conference was titled as 'Aathichoodi' (ஆத்திச்சூடி), the singlets highlighting 'values of life', as an honour to the ancient Tamil poet Avvayar. The topics chosen for the conference, were also named after the snippets from 'Aathichoodi'. The sessions were contemporary to the current scenario aptly served the needs of the highest financial profession of the Nation. The speakers of the sessions were eminent personalities of the profession from many years.
First day of the session started with inauguration presided by CA G Ramaswamy, Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Mr. Ravi Ramachandran IRS, CIT Exemptions. The Central council members and regional council members of ICAI and the Past chairmen of the Branch, also joined the Conference.
CA Sivagurunathan T, The Chairman of the Chengalpattu District Branch of SIRC of ICAI gave his welcome address followed by honouring of the dignitaries. Over 500 Chartered Accountants participated on the first day of the conference and more members are expected for the second day, 12th August, 2023
The following topics were covered in the conference: Practical approach to Regulatory reviews of Audit conducted by SMP's, New Audit Report form 10B for Charitable Trust, Selected clauses of report u/s 44AB, Artificial Intelligence.
The following topics are scheduled to be covered on the day 2 of the conference: Twin conditions under PMLA-SFIO, GST Audits & Investigation, Investor awareness, Disclosure related amendments in Sch III to Companies Act.
The speakers of the 2 days session include CA Chinna Swamy Ganesan, CA R Krishnan, CA V Ramnath, Mr. Prashant Ganti, CA M.R Venkatesh, Mr. P Jagannathan, CA K Sivarajan and CA Himanshu V Kishnadwala.
The Conference will witness the visit of Swamy Bodhamayananda of Sri Ramakrishna Mutt, who will highlight the importance of Dharma in Professional Practice.
CA Pannaraj Sirigeri, the Chairman of SIRC of ICAI and CA G Sekhar, Past central council member of ICAI will preside over the valedictory session. CA Shiva Chandra Reddy, Secretary of the Chengalpattu District Branch of SIRC of ICAI will propose the formal vote of thanks.
