New India Assurance on March 31, 2020 released guidelines for the Rs. 50 lakh insurance cover being provided to each of the over 2.2 million healthcare providers helping in the effort to contain the spread of Covid-19 in India.
As per a press release, the tailormade comprehensive personal accident cover, which includes accidental loss of life on account of contracting Covid-19, will be valid for 90 days from March 30, 2020.
Under the guidelines, the coverage will be extended to 22,12,000 public healthcare providers, community healthcare workers and private healthcare staff who may have to be in direct contact of Covid-19 patients.
