Indian Share Market Markets Going Down: Is it Good Time To Invest in Small and Mid Cap Stocks and Mutual Funds?

By Mr. Chokkalingam Palaniappan, Prakala Wealth Management Pvt. Ltd

We are seeing slight downward trend in the Indian Share markets post budget 2019-20  presentation.

In general Small & Mid cap Funds have been hammered for the past 18 months or so.

Also, in the large cap category only select stocks have moved up in the past year and it was not a broad based rally in the markets.

Hence, you will be seeing under performance in the Large cap category as well.

We all know that equity markets are always volatile – however, they perform exceedingly well over the longer term - hence, nothing to worry. We are very much bullish on India in the long term and investors will get very good risk adjusted returns in the long term.

Currently, Small & Mid cap Fund units are available at cheaper price. Hence, you will be getting more units for the amount invested.

Hence, we recommend you to add to your existing equity mutual fund investments, if investible surplus is available. In the next 3 to 5 years you will be able to get very good returns.
