Market Snapshot

* Chennai city witnessed the highest new launches of about 42,888 units and 32,834 flats during 2012 and 2013.

* The absorption trend in Chennai city is 20,000 to 25,000 flats per year whereas the new supply entered the market during 2012 and 2013 was double the absorption capacity which shot up the unsold inventory in the city. 


* The supply is recorded to be the lowest in 2015. This is due to the piling up unsold inventory since 2012 which pushed the developers to launch their projects cautiously in
coming years


* The year 2016 was a good year with increase in new supply as well as absorption compared to 2015
