Centum Learning felicitates meritorious students
skilled under PMKVY for Beauty and Wellness Sector
Close to 120 women received certificates for the
Beauty and Wellness training under PMKVY scheme
Centum Learning, a leading organization in global skill
development and vocational training, today felicitated successful women
candidates skilled under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme
during a certification ceremony at YWCA, Delhi. The event was organized for the
first batch of students who were successfully trained by Centum Learning in the
Beauty and Wellness sector. Around 200 candidates – both successful and
potential, were present at the occasion.
Tina Dabi, the 22 year old topper of 2015 Civil Services
examination from Delhi, who cleared the examination in her first attempt, was
also present on the occasion. Her perseverance and consistency which got her to
this position has made her a role model for women across the country.
Tina, the youngest girl to top this prestigious UPSC examination, was an
inspiration for all young women present at the event.
On the occasion, Sanjeev Duggal, CEO & Managing
Director, Centum Learning said, “Centum
Learning encourages needy and underprivileged young men and women
to pursue skill development courses in the growing Beauty and Wellness domain
to take advantage of the enormous career opportunities opening up in this
sphere. India has the highest acceptance and demand for beauty and wellness services. However, the growing attrition rate of skilled
workforce and lack of quality personnel are two major challenges that the
Beauty and Wellness industry faces. So it is essential to build quality talent
pool for an industry which deals with humans directly.”
To motivate young women further, the reward amount for the Beauty
and Wellness sector under the PMKVY was increased to Rs. 10,000 for which
training is provided on higher levels of the National Skills Qualification
Framework (NSQF). Beauty and Wellness arena is just one of two sectors (the
other being healthcare) where the reward amount under the PMKVY has been
revised.
Centum Learning has established approximately 964 skilling centers
(which include training for Beauty & Wellness) in order to undertake
multiple skilling programs under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana
(PMKVY) scheme. To ensure a secured future for candidates who are enrolled
under various job roles under Beauty & Wellness, Centum Learning has
proactively tied up with various Industry giants like Naturals for placements
of candidates. Till date, Centum Learning has skilled over 95,000 women in
India. Additionally, Centum Learning has a strategic partnership with Godrej
Consumer Products Limited in the area of Knowledge & Technical expertise,
under the Godrej Good & Green initiative supporting Salon-i Program (which
is targeted for urban and semi- urban women from underprivileged communities to
become financially independent).
Centum Learning highly encourages and believes in Beti Bachao,
