Gangavaram Port contributes Rs. 21 lacs for constructing bio toilets & drinking water facilities to schools in Vishakhapatnam District under CSR
Gangavaram Port today contributed Rs. 21 lakhs for the construction of bio toilets and provides drinking water facilities to Z P Girls High Schools in Chodavaram and Chittivalasa villages of Visakhapatnam district. The initiative which is a part of Gangavaram Port Corporate Social Responsibility program is a step to facilitate proper sanitation system and developing a hygienic network in schools and providing a good learning environment to school children.
The shortage of sanitation facilities in schools is a major concern with key schools lacking access to adequate sanitation and proper drinking water facilities. Gangavaram Port plans to support the construction of Eco Friendly Bio toilets and providing drinking water facilities and development of other facilities in schools to help towards enabling sustainable solutions for growth and development of children.
According to Gangavaram Port Management, “We are committed to environmental sustainability by providing basic infrastructure and supporting affordable and sustainable sanitation solutions for schools in Vizag district. The Eco-friendly Bio-toilets are a step for improving the Health and Dignity for people especially women and girls.
