The First Edition of the Rotary Expo at Chennai Trade Center, Nandambakkam, was inaugurated by well-knownActor Sarathkumar, in the presence of Abirami Ramanathan. Rotary Expo 2016 is a unique attempt by Rotary District 3230 to have a full-fledged professionally conducted exhibition focusing on Education, Health, Environment and Lifestyle in125 stalls. The three day Expo will be on till 7th February and more than 20000 people are expected to visit.
According to Rtn. George B. Cherian, Chairman - District Conference2015-2016, District 3230, “We have exhibitors in exclusive brands of Diamond Jewellery, Premium Life Style Products, Real Estate, Educational Institutions and Allied products. The enormous 30,000 sq.ft of exhibition space at this expo is an ideal environment to showcase brands as we expect 7000 to 10000 people visiting the Rotary Expo every day. This will impact the Brand’s position and is an opportunity for Companies to talk, engage, show and demonstrate their products and values.”

District Governor Rtn. C. R. Raju, RI Dist 3230 said, “We at RI District 3230 aim to focus on children and youth as they are the future. As a part of the run up to the Expo, a series of events were organized across the City in Schools and Colleges by Team Expo where drawing, painting, model making, short films, music contests. The winners from different contests, with ideas that have potential to change the world are showcased at the Expo. The expo will have several sessions which will educate the public.”
Actor Sarathkumar after inaugurating the conference said, “Effective two way communication is the only way to progress whether it is a private company or a huge corporate, the Government or an NGO. Most of the problems faced are because of poor understanding and ineffective communication. An executive capable of communicating complex concepts successfully is well recognized by everybody. In democratic countries only powerful speakers become heroes in politics. Along with education, students should develop communication skill by participating in debates and elocution competitions. In modern days communication skill is very much required to enter into certain key positions. It should not be forgotten that, for a successful executive, communication skills is not optional but mandatory.”

The two day District Conference titled “Utsav” will be held on 6th and 7th at the same venue. This is a platform for all 5500 Rotarians from District 3230to interact and deliberate on Rotary’s progress and future plans that will impact the society. It will also help in better understanding of the Rotary principles and thereby effectively using all the expertise and experience of Rotarians in the service of the society. Rtn. Karen Ventz , from U.S.A has been deputed by the RI president to represent him at the conference and share Rotary International’s new developments and thrust areas with the Rotarians of Dist. 3230.
