The assets under management (AUM) of Indian Mutual Funds as a percentage of Gross domestic product (GDP) is still in single digits (less than 10%) compared to 76% in the US and 41% in Brazil.
Household penetration of Indian mutual funds is about 3% to 4%. Among households, where funds have reached, top eight (8) cities account for 75% of retail AUM. As on Feb. 2016
