Toyota Kirloskar Motor Rally’s for Regional Integration at The Bangladesh, Bhutan, and India Nepal Friendship Motor Rally 2015

Toyota Kirloskar Motor(TKM) today announced its support and participation in the Bangladesh, Bhutan,India, and Nepal (BBIN) Friendship Motor Rally 2015 which will be flagged off on the 14th of this month from Bhubaneshwar. 

The BBIN Rally is organized as the first step towards facilitating sub-regional connectivity, better opportunities and improved people-to-people interactions between the four participating countries.

The flag-off ceremony at Bhubaneshwar will be attended by eminent personalities such as the MoRTH Secretary Mr. Vijay Chhibber, Mr. Shekar Viswanathan, Vice Chairman and Whole - time Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Ambassadors/High Commissioners of the 4 participating countries.

The rally which willculminate at Kolkata on 2nd December2015 will also champion the cause of educating the people about importance of road safety and safe driving through a seminar to be conducted by TKM in Guwahati on November 25th 2015.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor will be an active participant in the event inline with the company’s pursuance of a comprehensive approach towards achievingroad safety.

TKMbeing safety leaders in the industry have always displayed enthusiasmin promoting safe driving habits among citizens, the company will provide its Fortuners and Innovas for the rally which is well known for its Quality, Durability and Reliability.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Shekar Viswanathan, Vice Chairman and Whole - time Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “We atToyota are extremely delighted to be part of this historic event. Also commenting on the event Mr. Vijay Chhibber – Secretary, MoRTH, said “BBIN friendshiprally will further strengthen friendship, mutual-trust and cooperation between participating countries. Growing access will also help in establishing a stronger people to people bond. We hope to build more such cultural engagements in the future. We are happy to receive the participation from TKM and their support in promoting importance of Road Safety”.

The BBINFriendship Motor Rallyis following the ratification of the ‘Motor Vehicle Agreement for the Regulation of Passenger, Personal, and Cargo Vehicular Traffic with Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal, to smoothen cross border vehicle movement. This effort was as a result of the strong determination expressed by the Heads of State of Government of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as "SAARC”) to deepen regional integration by boosting road connectivity.
