CAG's 30th anniversary celebrations : Transparency, Accountability and Citizen participation

CAG's 30th anniversary celebrations : Transparency, Accountability and Citizen participation..

Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), a non-profit, non-political and professional organisation, works towards protecting citizens rights in consumer and environmental issues and promoting good governance processes including transparency, accountability and participatory decision-making.

CAG is based in Chennai and was founded in 1985 by a group of highly respected Chennai residents including the late Mr. S. Govind Swaminadhan (former Advocate General of Tamil Nadu), late Mr. S. Guhan (former Finance Secretary, GoTN) and Mr. Sriram Panchu (Senior Advocate).
This 2015 October, CAG celebrates 30 years of serving as a collective voice of the people. Over the year, a series of events have been planned in Chennai to mark some of CAG's successful campaigns over the last three decades, starting with a celebratory launch on October 10, 2015.

They hope that theier 30th year can serve as a platform to inspire and encourage the citizens to play a more proactive role in protecting their rights based on the theme,

Transparency, Accountability and Citizen participation”. On the 30th anniversary, we wish to bring together our stakeholders, friends and partners who have been a source of great support in our interventions and in shaping the growth of CAG.

CAG also hope to bring together people who embody the spirit of public participation and good governance.
