service atTamil Nadu Global Investors
Meet (TN -GIM) to be held between 9th& 10th
September 2015 at Chennai Trade Centre in Chennai.
The two day conference inaugurated by Honourable Chief Minister J Jayalalithaaand will focus towards
realizing Tamil Nadu’s vision of inclusive growth through investment inflows,
growth in employment, balanced regional development and environmentally
sustainable long term development.
It is an effort from the Government
of Tamil Nadu to build attractive growth prospects for the state and commit
in maintaining its position as one of India’s most preferred investment
destinations. As Jio becomes the official connectivity partner of TN - GIM, visiting dignitaries will be
able to experience and reap the benefits of high speed wireless connectivity on
hand held devices (smart phones / tablets) through this Wi-Fi network from Reliance Jio.
Commenting on this initiative, a Reliance Jio Spokes person said, “This year, Global Investor Meet promises to be an extra-ordinary
experience for all the visiting stakeholders as it will intend to build strong
brand equity of Tamil Nadu globally and showcase its potential as a leading and
preferred investment destination across the world. It will intend to promote
the ethos and rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu. At the event, Jio will be
offering its ‘Jionet’ high speed Wi-Fi internet service as we want visitors to
sample the digital ecosystem we are building consisting of high speed data
networks, specially designed apps and rich content to understand how it can
enrich their lives.”
The users’ feedback on the overall
experience and network will be used to improve the services further as Jio gets
ready for its formal launch. Once 4G LTE service commences, Wi-Fi and LTE
networks will operate seamlessly with each other.
Steps to connect to ‘Jionet’ Wi-Fi
Any visitor in the vicinity of the
Wi-Fi Access Points can connect to ‘Jionet’ – the Jio Wi-Fi network
(hotspot). They have to follow simple on-screen instructions to access the
powerful broadband.

Jio is using this deep
fibre network also to ramp-up Fibre-to-the-Home deployment.By April of next
year, Jio would have connected over 1 million homes via fibre with a capability
of rapidly scaling up in the top 50 cities of India.
In addition to domestic
fibre optic capacity, Jio has created a multi-Terabit capacity international
network.More than half of Internet traffic served by Jio will be carried
end-to-end on Jio's own network, creating an unparalleled customer
experience.Jio has also operationalized nearly half a million square feet of
its own next-generation Cloud data centres to be doubled over the next year.Jio
has an end-to-end initial capacity to serve in excess of 100 million wireless
Broadband and 20 million Fibre-to-the-Home customers, with capability to easily
expand further as the business scales up.
The company’s stated goal
is break the digital divide between ‘India’ and ‘Bharat’ and propel India into
global leadership in digital economy. In rural areas, Jio is prioritizing
connectivity to thousands of schools to ensure that the benefit of broadband
initiative is first and foremost felt by students who stand to gain the most by
accessing the Information highway. It is developing on specialized apps aimed
at helping rural India in areas like healthcare, education and agriculture.
Jio is currently in the
pre-launch testing and stabilization phase of this large and complex
network.Over the next few months, Jio will initiate an extensive beta launch
involving millions of friendly customers across all our markets.This beta
program will be upgraded into commercial operations around December of this
year.
