2.2 kgs. of Chicken Biriyani in 20 minutes flat ̴
The formal opening of Aasife Biriyani’s Keelkattalai outlet
(fifth outlet in Chennai) turned out to be quite a ‘Biryani lovers’ affair
today with ‘The Great Biryani Challenge’, a biryani eating competition open
to one and all.
10,257 plus Chicken biriyani enthusiasts
above 18 years of age from across the length and breadth of the city and even
the outskirts had enrolled themselves for the contest. 20 lucky participants
were shortlisted from among the registrations who fought-ate it out for the
winner, runner-up and the second runner-up prizes.

At today’s Grand Finale,
participants were given 20 minutes to eat as much biryani as they could without
spilling.
Damodharan emerged first having consumed 2.2
kgs. of chicken biryani in the stipulated time of 20 minutes. He was awarded
with Rs. 10,000 worth Amazon.com gift vouchers. Mahendran Prasath and Nirmal
Kirubakaran finished at second and third positions, having consumed 1.9 kgs.
and 1.7 kgs. in 20 minutes…they were awarded with Amazon.com gift vouchers
worth Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 3,000 respectively.

Aasife Biryani Pvt. Ltd.
The newly opened Aasife Biryani outlet is
located at 123, Ponranjitham Complex, Medavakkam Main Road, Keelkattalai, Chennai -
600 117. The outlet has 160 covers and a staff strength of 60.

on the occasion, Mr. Aasife Ahmed said,

outlet in Chennai. And we couldn’t think of a better way than ‘The Great
Biryani Challenge’ to mark this moment and to celebrate Chennai’s love for
biryani. We are overwhelmed with the number of registrations we received for
the contest. Unfortunately due to lack of space, we could not accommodate each
and every entry. But we want this love for biryani to only grow with time. With
a successful track record over the past 15 years, Aasife Biryani is well placed
to leverage its expertise to more restaurants in order to cater to the
ever-growing love and demand for biryani.”
