• RBI notification on encouraging agri-borrowers for hedging price
risks
The FMC circulated the RBI notification of May 28, 2015,
advising banks to encourage large agricultural borrowers to hedge their risks
on agricultural commodities. The FMC also suggested to the exchanges to conduct
joint awareness programmes with nationalized banks (Ref. Circular No.:
FMC/2/2015/C27 F.No.5/2/2006-MKT-1).

• Permanent Account Number (PAN) verification
MCX informed its members that the last date for verifying client
records where a name mismatch or PAN mismatch had been observed had been
extended to July 15, 2015 (Ref. Circular No.: MCX/T&S/188/2015).

• Revision in expiry date of metal contracts expiring on August 31
The exchange informed its members that the expiry date of some
base metals contracts has been revised because of the international reference
market being closed on August 31 due to the Summer Bank Holiday (Ref. Circular
No.:
MCX/T&S/180/2015).

• Revised policy for open position limits
In continuation of the circular dated February 23, 2015, the
exchange informed members that the benefit of netting shall be discontinued for
monitoring near month open position limits (Ref. Circular No.:
MCX/T&S/175/2015).

• Reminder for submission of Annual Compliance Report (ACR) for 2014–15
Members were reminded to submit their Annual Compliance Report
in soft copy through “MCX eXchange” and a hard copy to the exchange, latest by
June 30, 2015 (Ref. Circular No.: MCX/COMP/166/2015).

• Recovery of stamp duty on transactions by members
The District Collector of Stamps (Enforement-1), Mumbai, has
informed the exchange, which was conveyed to the members, that they had to pay
the requisite stamp duty for transactions done by them to the concerned
authority. This was applicable for those having registered office within Maharashtra
(Ref. Circular No.: MCX/MEM/162/2015).
