Distributes free sewing machines and certificates to women who completed the fourth sewing training program
Gangavaram Port Limited as a part of their Corporate Social responsibility program today distributed training certificates and sewing machines to 50 women from Dibbapalem village who have successfully completed 6 weeks of the sewing training program conducted by port management. The sewing machines and certificates were handed over by Shri Palla Srinivasa Rao, M.L.A Gajuwaka Assembly Constituency, in presence of Mr. Brahmaiah Gadde, Director (Stretegy and Planning) Mr. V Janardhan Rao, Director (Operations), Mr. K. Raja Ratnam Naidu, Senior Vice-President (R R & Security) and Mr. Ram Naidu, Vice President (R R & Security). Gangavaram Port Limited at a function held at the port premises.
The training program which has finished four batches, has received fantastic response from the neighbouring villages that have benefitted from the same. The main objective of the Sewing training is to provide women an opportunity to be self-employed and supplement the family income.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. K. Raja Ratnam Naidu, Senior Vice-President (R R & Security) Gangavaram Port Limited said, “We are extremely pleased at the response for the sewing training program. The fourth batch has been handed over the certificates along with the sewing machines today. With this program GPL is confident that the women in our surrounding area will be able to get employment and support their families economically. At Gangavaram Port we want to uplift and give equal status to the women and help them gain respect in the society. With activities like sewing and stitching programs we aim to provide sustainable income to the ladies and help them lead a more independent and prosperous life”.
