Welspun Renewables Re-Invest summit a grand success..!

Welspun Renewables, India’s leading clean energy generator has partnered with Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) for its first Renewable Energy Global Investment Promotion Meet & Expo (RE-INVEST). The first RE-INVEST was organized with the intent of providing a platform to the global investment community to connect with stakeholders in India. 

The event showcased India as an investment destination for renewable energy and to encourage investors for setting up projects and manufacturing facilities of Renewable Energy equipment & products in the country. The inaugural session was presided over by the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi.  It was one of India’s largest investors summit a follow up event of ‘Make in India’ campaign. 


Mr. Vineet Mittal, Vice Chairman Welspun Renewables said, “We are quite keen to support Ministry of New & Renewable Energy’s endeavour for an empowered renewable energy sector.  Being associated with RE-INVEST is a matter of pride for the organization and the government is taking all the necessary steps to ensure that the Prime Minister’s envisioned target of 100 GW is met within stipulated timelines". 

Mr. Upendra Tripathy, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) commented, “Through this event we are seeking to create a bridge between investors and developers/manufacturers. We have showcased that India is more than ready for its next phase of development. Our policy environment is stable and conducive for growth.”


Welspun Renewables is targeting to commission 1 GW of solar and wind capacities before the end of this calendar year - December 2015. The organization envisions developing power projects pan India, with existing projects located in other high radiation zones like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Punjab.
