TANSCOPE,
Chennai and CONCERT Chennai have jointly conducted “Talent competition for
school students” in Elocution, Essay, Drawing and Special Drawing contests.
Children
from class 8th, 9th and 11th standards of High and Higher Secondary Schools at
Chennai district participated in these contests. The main objective of the
contest was to spread awareness on consumer related issues among students. The
above contests were held at 3 levels. First school level, zonal level and
finally district level.
In the first
level, 5100 students from 107 schools participated. In the zone level, among
the 107 schools, 238 students from 85 schools participated in all four
competitions.
The final
district level competition is planned for 27th February, 2015, 10.30 am at
Chennai Boys Hr. Sec School, No.112,
Kodambakkam Salai, Saidapet, Chennai.
Seminar titled “STUDENTS AS CONSUMERS” will
also be held on the same day from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm followed by the award and
certificate distribution function.

Gopalakrishnan, IAS, Commissioner for Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection
would be presiding over the function.
Eminent speakers representing parent, teacher,
media, consumer activist and government officials would address the gathering
on the seminar title “Students as Consumers”.
Best
drawings of the students would be displayed at the venue.
