The evening concluded with the recital of a Thillana. A Thillana is a
dance piece composed mostly of complex footwork and therefore, portrays
exemplary skills in terms of rhythm, timing and synchronization. It combines
graceful body movements with a few elements of Abhinaya which was performed by
Vibhaa beautifully.
Vibhaa has been learning Bharatanatyam from 2003;
she completed her Arangetram in May 2011. Apart from dancing she has also been
trained in Vocal Carnatic Music, since 1999.
Vibhaa is currently pursuing an undergraduate
degree in Computer Engineering at Princeton University, U.S.A. She completed
her schooling from DAV Girls Senior Secondary School and is also one of India’s
top 20 Times Scholars in her year.
