Real Estate Purchase Sentiment Index

ZyFin Research has come out with the Real Estate Purchase Sentiment Index for the month June 2014 which is a measure of willingness to purchase real estate in the next 6 months.

Based on recent trends, the Index has been suggesting a mild recovery in willingness to spend since May 2014.

Insights: •
Among the metros, the Index is optimistic (score above 50) in Hyderabad and Delhi, suggesting an expected rise in real estate purchases here over the next 6 months.

• Among the regions, the Index is highest in North India, reflecting a stronger demand in this part of India.

• Also, metro cities would see a quicker recovery in housing demand in the next 6 months, closely followed by Tier II cities. Tier I cities lag behind metros and Tier II cities by a significant margin.

• Interestingly, single consumers are less pessimistic than married consumers when it comes to buying property.
