QATAR AIRWAYS
PARTNERS WITH UNITED STATES INDIA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
Participates as the
official airline at the pre-departure orientation program organized by
USIEF
Qatar Airways, the
national carrier of the State of Qatar, has partnered with United States India
Educational Foundation (USIEF) as the official airline partner for the
Pre-departure Orientation for students who have applied to US universities for
further education. The airline will be participating at the pre-departure
orientation sessions which are organized in 7 key cities by USIEF. Over 2000
students are expected to attend the orientation and will get the opportunity to
interact with USIEF staff and receive complete information about the education
system and culture in the USA.
Qatar Airways
operates from 12 cities in India, with 95 passenger flights a week connecting
to 6 destinations in the United States – New York JFK, Washington DC, Chicago,
Houston, Philadelphia and Miami. The airline will further increase its
footprint in the country with the Dallas/Fort Worth route launch on 1st July
2014. Qatar Airways officially joined the oneworld alliance last year, which
expands its network in the United States to a great extent, thereby providing
seamless travel experience to over 65 cities covered by the alliance partners.
Henry Moses, Country
Manager India, Qatar Airways said, “We are excited to partner with USIEF and
support the students in this orientation programme. As an airline, we have
always supported students in more ways than one by offering special fares with
additional baggage allowances for students. Associating with USIEF is an
exceptional opportunity, as Qatar Airways has seen a remarkable response from
India on its rapidly expanding USA route network.
With the American Airlines
code share and the oneworld alliance, we have an expansive network to
seamlessly connect more passengers to USA. The United States remains a focal
point for the airline and we will continue to explore further possibilities of
promoting the destination among various segments of travellers from India.”
Qatar Airways has
seen rapid growth in just 17 years of operation, to the point where today it is
flying a modern fleet of 134 aircraft to 143 key business and leisure
destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North
America and South America.
Over the next few
months, the network will grow further with new routes to Dallas/Fort Worth, USA
(July 1, 2014) and Djibouti (July 27, 2014).
The airline reaches
to 12 cities in India, taking the overall frequency to 95 passenger flights and
15 freighter services each week. The Indian network covers daily passenger
flights to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, Hyderabad, Kozhikode, Trivandrum,
Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru (Bangalore), with 11-flights-a-week to Cochin and
double daily to the capital, Delhi.
