India: Investment In Equities just 2%

According to a CLSA study, investment in equities accounts for just 2% of the $ 6 trillion total assets of Indian households.

The retail participation in Indian equity markets is very low despite simpler processes at the exchanges, says Mr. Ashishkumar Chauhan, Managing Director and CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Even now we have only 2% of investors coming in to equity markets and the number of investors almost remain the same of what it used to be two decades ago.
