Recon- 2014: Kochi to Host Real Estate Meet..

Recon- 2014, the  2 day Real Estate conclave in the state will be held in Kochi on May 2, 2014 The meet is the first step to bring self-discipline to the industry.

The leading players in the real estate sector are expected to participate in the meet. It will focus on broker-developer interface, benefits of networking, leverage IT to scale up the business, finance and tax scenario, legal aspects and steps to build self-regulation for the players.

The real estate sector in the state was feeling the need to launch an index tracking the real estate prices on the lines of S&P Case Shiller 20-City Composite Home Price Index, which tracks the price movements in the 20-major metro cities in the US.

Though the National Housing Bank (NHB) had launched NHB Residex in 2007 but its coverage has been confined to major cities like Bangalore, Bhopal, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. The industry wants such an index in Kerala too. The meet is expected to pave way for the same, sources said.
