Here is a new product
from Ashok Leyland John Deere Construction Equipment Company Pvt Ltd for the
construction industry. Leyland Deere has unveiled the
435E Backhoe Loader (BHL).
The company, a joint
venture between Ashok Leyland and John Deere, has focussed on efficiency and
operating costs while manufacturing this version of BHL. And this new launch,
offering 10 percent improvement in fuel cost, specifically targeted at first time
users.
Built on the rugged
and durable 435 BHL platform, Leyland Deere’s new 435E BHL offers reduction in
cost of operations. It also delivers savings up to 20 percent of the EMI value. This
gives the product an important competitive edge.
The 435E BHL is backed
by best-in-class after-sales support with a service engineer-tomachine ratio of
1:8, rapid response mobile service vans and a dedicated call
center. This enables Leyland Deere to offer Indian customers an industrybest
Mean-time to Restore (MTTR), maximizing availability of the machine and
earnings for customers.
The 435E delivers
superior value by addressing a customer’s core needs of higher fuel efficiency,
superior reliability and durability, greater machine up time and
lower operating costs. Its rugged structure ensures performance under the most
demanding operating conditions.
Over the last
one-and-half years, the market has gone through longer and deeper downturn than
predicted. There were also a lot of changes in the market conditions and consumer
preferences.

Key Features
The 435E BHL is
manufactured at Leyland Deere’s facility near Chennai that incorporates
globally-benchmarked manufacturing processes like robotic welding, CNC cutting
and a state-of-the-art paint shop to ensure the highest standards of quality.
The 435E is powered by
the proven ‘H’ Series BS III compliant engine that features a mechanical Inline
fuel injection pump offering optimal performance.
The new model of
Backhoe Loader delivers a minimum of 0.5 litres per hour savings in fuel
consumption compared to the nearest competitor. It also provides cost savings
upto 20 percent of EMI.
The best-in-class
cabin offers better comfort and larger space while easy-access controls offer
superior ergonomics. Equipped with India’s only BHL cabin,
designed and tested to
ROPS (Rollover Protection Structure) and FOPS (Falling Object Protection
Structure), the 435E BHL offers enhanced safety.

Leyland Deere Leyland
and John Deere, the USA based construction equipment manufacturer, have a 50-50
joint venture that marks the Hinduja Group’s foray into
the high-potential
construction equipment business. The first product from this combine – the 435
Backhoe Loader – is already in the Indian market and soon to follow will be a
full
range of four-wheel
loaders and excavators that will start rolling out from Leyland Deere’s
state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Goomdipoondi, near Chennai.
Leyland-Deere has
largely tapped the tier 1 and 2 retail customers at the grassroots who supply
to large contractors. The vehicles come with a twoyear warranty. The company
also promises to restore running repairs (barring engine overhaul) within
half-a-day.
The front-wheel loader
will be Leyland-Deere’s next launch and the company will take a call on other
launches as the market progresses. Leyland-Deere aims to reach full plant
capacity (8,800 units) by 2017-18.
