The 37th edition of
the Chennai Book Fair organised by the Booksellers and Publishers Association
of South India (BAPASI) will be held from January 10 to 22, 2014 at the YMCA
College of Physical Education, Nandanam, Chennai.
The Chennai Book
Fair, which will be set up about 2 lakh square feet, will feature 777 stalls
selling books in various languages & subjects.
The entry fee will be
Rs.10, but children below the age of 12 will have free entry.
A special application
for Android & Apple phones has been developed for the daily programme,
titles carried by various publishers & the location of the stalls.

Somasundaram. M, President, BAPASI, said, ''Total of 7 lakh free tickets will
be issued to school students. A 10% discount will be given to everyone to
promote reading. Drawing & elocution competitions for students will also be
conducted”
The Chennai Book Fair
2014 will also have facilities such as free pick-ups and drops at the entrance
of the venue, drinking water, a food court, ATM machines, a resting area as
well as wheelchair and ambulance services for visitors. A blood donation camp
has also been organised. Ten ‘Namma’ autorickshaws will be available at the
venue for the benefit of visitors.
Book launches &
lectures by eminent personalities will also be held daily between 4 pm. and 8
pm. Visitors will be informed about the following day’s programme through text
messages.
