IIA’s most awaited and acclaimed annual congregation
of architects NATCON 2013 ( National Convention (NATCON) of CREDAI) will be
held at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai, on the 27th, 28th and
29th of December 2013.
Paving the way for companies & associations
specializing in architectural products and all other related industries to meet
under one roof to showcase and exhibit their products and expertise.
IIA NATCON 2013 is hosted by IIA TN CHAPTER on behalf
of the National body to bring together above 1,500 Architects from across
India.
This year’s convention is aimed to Inspire, Innovate
and sustainable, energy efficient and innovative products. As part of the
Convention, a seamless Mega exhibition of Architectural & Building products from manufacturers and
dealers throughout India will be organized. Alongside the exposition, a display
of Works of Master architects from India, award-winning recent projects and
award-winning students’ works will also be on display. An Awareness pavilion to
provide information about architectural practice will also find place at the
expo.
The buoyant Indian economy is leaving its mark on the
Architecural landscape of Indian cities & and witnessing a growth of (22 %)
providing significant opportunities with sizeable investments in both
government & private sectors. With rapid urbanization and
industrialization, India is poised to see unprecedented growth in construction.
Mr. C. R. Raju, Chairman, IIA TN chapter, “Over the last couple of years, there has been a
tremendous need to effectively manage the growing demands of the private
& public sectors in India, this is
further strengthened by the fact that we find large number of multi-national
companies setting up their ventures in India & starting to sell their products
and wares. This convention will aim to inspire and bring about innovative
solutions to sustainability issues in the current context.”
Mr. C. R. Raju also added, “This national convention of architects
from across the country will deliberate and discuss the various facets of
architectural development, best practices and provide avenues further
enhancement of knowledge across the sector.”
Natcon 2013 will see a host of activities taking place
simultaneously, such as ‘ARCH INFO’ – an awareness pavilion of architectural
information and a festival of architectural short films and ‘ARCH CREA’ – will
showcase some of the creations of master architects, young architects &
students.
