Recent losses signify Family welfare scheme
HEALTHCARE IS PRIME
Dear FACEAT&P
members,
I am glad to be back
talking to you through this journal in this issue. I humbly share my heartfelt
condolences to the bereaved families of the
deceased FACEAT&P members from Chengleput and Karur.
I know very well no
consoling words will lighten the grieved hearts of the dependents of the
departed souls. But we could do only that but the
Trust can achieve even beyond the words for them.
The situation may not
be apt to talk about the advantage of the family welfare scheme here. But
pragmatically looking at the matter, these incidents have
signified the vitality of the scheme for the members of the FACEAT&P.
But, that does not
mean that we anticipate such incidents to happen. I wish to inform here that
one of the families of the late members were paid an advance
amount of Rs.1 lakh towards the claim benefit of the scheme on November 12 and
the other will be paid shortly.
Balance of the benefit
is to be paid to these families by the year-end. Here I sadly note that both
the engineers that fell apart were of very young age. Er.
CDS Ravichandran of Chengleput is only 46 years of age and the other Er. Ashok
Kumar from Karur who died in the last week of November is pitiably very young
at only 32. It is really shocking.
This goes to show our
negligence or reluctance to take care of health in the process of enhancing our
professional expertise.
The outcome of this
dedication is all here for us to see – loss of two valuable members.
These demises have
rekindled my thought process to organise and conduct health awareness
programmes for our members.
We are talking to
major hospitals like Apollo Hospitals and KG Hospital in this regard.
Under the plan
conceived, we shall arrange health check up for our members at a special rate.
Each member will be
issued a card for the purpose. I take this opportunity to stress that all of us
look after our health and maintain high values of our
life at least for the
sake of our family. Even I stand an example of this situation.
Thus I want to insist
on healthcare. That said, may I have the liberty to put up a request to all our
esteemed members to shun all irrelevant
habits to ensure a long life to serve the society and family longer.
Our search for land
for headquarters in Chennai will hopefully be over in a month. Our next aim is
to set up vocational training centre. I was
attending a meeting in Devakkottai where a person, impressed by my speech,
voluntarily offered his one acre of land for the
training centre.
I also continue to
express concern over the future of the children of our fraternity. I plan to
conduct personality development programmes for these
kids under topic ‘Valarum Sigarangal’.
We shall organise
these programmes by taking trainers to every town to guide the kids in the age
group of 8 to 15. I am also planning to provide
career guidance to Plus Two students that will help them groom their ambitions
for the future.
Have a nice time!
Thank you
Er. R. Mohanraj
