FINANCE MINISTER INAUGURATES 103 BRANCHES AND 103 ATMS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA CELEBERATES 103RD FOUNDATION DAY

Central Bank of India, one of the largest Public Sector Banks with a PAN-INDIA presence of over 4,400 branches across the country celebrated its 103rd Foundation Day at Madurai.

In a fitting function organized to mark the occasion, the Chief Guest Mr. P. Chidambaram, Hon’ble Union Minister for Finance virtually inaugurated 103 Branches and 103 ATMs of the Bank, in the presence of  Mr.. Rajeev Rishi, Chairman and Managing Director, flanked by Mr.  R.K. Goyal and Shri. Animesh Chauhan, the Executive Directors of the Bank.


The Hon’ble Union Finance Minister also launched a new Mobile Banking Application and EMV Compliant RuPay Debit Card on the occasion.  The Mobile Application intends to promote  greener and eco-friendly channels of banking while at the same time facilitating all types of customers to avail banking services on the go.  The EMV compliant RuPay Debit Card is based on the Swadeshi Platform and is more secure with in-built security chip.

The Bank which has always been a common man’s Bank chose the occasion to focus on the rural and under privileged sector also.  The Bank launched a special Chola Arogya Bhima Health Insurance Policy at the hands of the Hon’ble Union Finance Minister, to provide affordable Health Insurance to 1.03 lakh Rural Families.

 503 Women Self-Help Groups were linked with Bank’s Financial Assistance.  Besides these, the Finance Minister also inaugurated Bank’s CSR activities in 103 Government Schools (100 in Bank’s Lead Districts and 3 in Sivagangai District).
A large number of customers including who’s who of Madurai and staff members of the Bank attended the Bank’s Corporate Level function held for the first time in Tamil Nadu.
