The latest study unveils teal as the colour of 2014 for interiors, exteriors and furnishings

Paints and coatings firm AkzoNobel, maker of Dulux Paints in India, has unveiled ColourFutures 2014 , an annual patented global colour study. The company press release reveals that teal has been picked as the dominant colour for the season along with 5 different inspirational colour trends for interior and exterior decoration.

A tertiary colour, teal is a combination of primary blue &  secondary green, today describing many tones of this original colour. A sophisticated &  deep colour,  teal symbolises balance &  has a subdued richness which is often used to describe tropical seas of shimmering bluish green.

When combined with neutral tones & shades of wood, the colour teal is versatile & gentle. Teal has been variously described as a colour that reflects the times we are living in, of change and of opportunities.

It reflects a subtle combination of the natural harmony of green with the tranquillity of blue.

Every year, AkzoNobel unveils ColourFutures, a colour trend research that forecasts the dominant colour and themes of the year for interior & exterior house decoration.
