Considering
the delays in getting approvals for real estate projects, a separate committee
was recently set up by the Housing and Urban Development, Government of India,
with representation of states, municipalities and associations of real estate
developers in the committee to suggest a systematic approach through which all
cities and states can develop fast track single window clearance mechanism with
special emphasis on affordable housing.
Mr.
Arun Kumar Mishra, Secretary, Housing and Urban Development,Government of India
said, "The online single window mechanism has been recognised as the
plausible & most effective solution to this problem. The ministry is
studying various online models already available in India with a comparative
look at the successful global practices.It will propose to states to replicate
such successful models in their cities and will provide support"
