The
National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) will soon start a chapter in
Chennai.NAREDCO's chief patron is the Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty
Alleviation, Government of India, Dr Girija Vyas. It has representation from
public and private sector development companies, banks and consultants engaged
in real estate development and finance, across
India.
HUDCO
( ) and NHB (National Housing Bank) are amongst its founder members.
The
objectives of NAREDCO, inter alia, include promotion of housing & real
estate sector and inculcating transparency and accountability, encouraging
standardisation and modernisation, improving technologies, materials and
skills, establishing data bank, promoting education, training and research; and
set up a National Institute of Real Estate Development, as also policy advocacy
at the level of central & state governments, besides conducting
workshops,seminars and conferences on issues concerning real estate sector.
