HOUSING DATA: 37.70 crore people live in Indian cities and 31% of the Indian population do not have a home...!


Nearly About 37.70 crore people live in Indian cities and 31% of the Indian population do not have a house. This is in spite of the fact that housing & construction sector is a vital sector, as it supports about 250 ancillary industries and contributes nearly 10% to the GDP (Gross Domestic Production).


Price escalations are making housing unaffordable and the total housing shortage has been estimated at 18.78 million units.Over 95 per cent pertains to the economically weaker sections (EWS) and low income group (LIG) categories.
