AREA ROUND UP : MAMBALAM, CHENNAI

Mambalam or  / West Mambalam, as it is known popularly known as is one of the most famous areas in the city of Chennai.

Known for its deep cultural roots because of the number of temples surrounding the area, it is also an important shopping hub.

West Mambalam  is also one of the oldest localities to have been formed. It is a residential & commercial area in the heart of Chennai  city and is best known for shops and bazaars apart from the temples.Interestingly.

The area derives its name from the existence of Maha Bilvam Trees in the locality, which in due course become Mabilam & then Mambalam.

Mambalam is extremely well connected by rail & road transport with the suburban station right in the middle. It is also well connected by road both by public and private transportation.

There are many historical temples which are above 100 years old and Ayodhya Mandapam offers place for many cultural events.

Predominantly a Hindu society, there are temples dedicated to different cultures in Hinduism.

Apart from temples, there are many schools providing the good educational facilities.

With every basic need around the corner that constitutes a fine living, West Mambalam is one of the best neighbourhoods in the Chennai city.
