The Odisha chapter of
Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) is
planning to build more than 6,000 units of affordable houses in the State. This
was informed by the Joint Secretary of the Credai Odisha chapter, Mr. Nitish
Ranjan Nanda.

Nanda said that, “Affordable homes will be developed for the lower & middle income groups within a range of Rs. 8
lakh to Rs.15 lakh very soon. Besides, in the State as a whole, about 11,000 units
of houses worth Rs. 8,000 crore are under construction and is also planning to
build more homes with an investment of about Rs. 6,000 crore. Out of the 11,000
homes, about 30% to 40% are ready to occupy.”
Mr. Binay Krishna
Das, President, CREDAI, Odisha Chapter said,
“Though there is economic slowdown, the number of genuine customers in real
estate sector never falls. We have observed that the number of real customers
is increasing every year.”
The Odisha Chapter of
the association is also going to organize its 4th edition of annual expo from
November 8 here at Janata Maidan. During the 3 day exhibition, they are also
organizing workshop & skill develop
programme for construction workers. CREDAI Odisha General Secretary Mr. Umesh
Patnaik said, “On the second day of the property expo, we are organizing a
skill development programme for construction workers suck as masons,
carpenters, rod binders, etc., where they can get technical advice from our
experts.”
The association is
also organizing Statecon, a workshop involving many developers from across the
State, where they can discuss various problems faced by them.
