DHL Express, the world's leading air express Logistics Company, celebrates three decades of connecting South India to the world. Since inception DHL Express has expanded its presence to build a strong foothold in all major cities of South India. “In India, DHL Express offers its customers the entire spectrums of express services from international air express to high-end logistics solutions including repair and return, strategic inventory management and direct express inventory distribution. Today we service over 60,000 customers, have a pan-India presence through dedicated service centres in 27 cities and through Blue Dart Express access to over 33,000 locations. We have a strong and robust network of over 400 fleet vehicles on road, 19 dedicated DHL network flights and 100 commercial flights per week. This gives our customers all over India and in South India unmatched access to an international network of 220 countries and territories where DHL has a presence,” says Mr. R. S. “With a growing customer base of over 60,000 exporters and importers, with over 30% of those from South India, we are constantly focusing on innovation and how we can bring better value to our customers,” adds Mr. Subramanian.

On DHL celebrating three decades of presence in South India, Mr. Chandrashekhar Pitre, Senior Director, Marketing, South Asia, DHL Express said, “In South India of the ‘promised land’ we have witnessed continuous and steady double-digit growth in business across the industries we service, which are automotive, garments, leather, electronics and manufacturing services etc.” Mr. Pitre adds, “Because of the high potential of business, we now have our own freighters that connect South India to the key markets of Asia Pacific as well as EU and the US, allowing ‘late-as-possible’ pick-ups, flexibility, capacity, reliability to our customers and ensures safe and secure shipping for our customers. Our in-house customs-clearance capabilities, tools offering visibility and control of the entire supply chain to customers and solutions also for developing country trunk lanes like Africa and Latin America add immense value to our customers.”
 
DHL services a wide spectrum of customers in India including importers, exporters, manufacturers, wholesalers, walk-in customers, students etc. To sustain the growth momentum DHL is continuously expanding its customer base and also focused on SME clusters that are playing a key role in the country’s manufacturing growth and international trade.
