The Tamilnadu state government confirmed that it would be
setting up a new bus terminus on GST Road at Vandalur near Chennai.
The terminus is to come up on 65 acres of land, and work
is likely to start soon.
The bus new terminus is expected to decongest the one at
Koyambedu . This move is likely to increase property prices in Vandalur
& adjoining neighbourhoods like
Guduvancherry, Katankulathur, Urapakkam, West Tambaram, and Oragadam.
To be built by Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority
(CMDA), the new terminus is meant to facilitate more bus services to the
southern districts of the state.
