CII – Institute of Logistics is organizing a Training Program on “INVENTORY AND WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT” 4 - 5  April 2013 , Radisson Blu, Chennai..!

To facilitate the Supply chain activities such as procurement, distribution, transportation and storage, the warehouses are designed, strategically positioned and used. 

Warehouse is the key integrator in Supply chain process, a tool for competitive advantage to maximize service levels. Today’s modern warehouses are profit centers rather than traditional storage spaces.

More focus on increasing the efficiencies of warehouses are essential due to Warehousing costs contributing 25% to 30% of the total Supply chain costs, increase in number of Third party Logistics Service providers, better utilization of costly space, increased number of SKUs, more JIT requirements, more demanding customers etc.,

In addition to traditional warehousing functions like picking, packing, cross docking, etc., modern present day warehouses support the supply chain with various value added services. Organizations are striving hard to improve their warehouse turnover and productivity by adaptation of Technology and various techniques.

To identify the various techniques & trends to handle effectively Warehousing and Inventory functions, CII – Institute of Logistics is organizing a  “Two days training program on Inventory and Warehousing Management” on 4 - 5  April 2013 at Radisson Blu, Chennai .

 Learning Objectives:

The aim of this Generic training Module is to provide individuals with a deeper understanding of the breadth of problems likely to be encountered by modern warehouses and to offer practical approaches to their solution.

The module is designed to give participants an understanding of the key functions of Warehouse, appreciation of the key characteristics of Warehouse Management Systems, Warehouse activity profiling & zoning that can help in design of Warehouses, appreciation of the main cost and control parameters in Warehouse operations and Logistics. Also, the course provides an insight into inventory Management.

 Delivery Mode: Through Power Point Presentations, short Video Clips, Case studies and analysis.

Speakers include:

Mr. M.Gurunathan is a Senior Counsellor, with CII Institute of Logistics. He has his Masters in Engineering with 20 years of experience.  His experience includes an Auto OE; Software Developer (Oracle) and Deemed Engineering University as an faculty. He is also pursuing research in automation systems.  He also spearheads the training activities of the institute. He is one of the key members in all the consultancy projects of Institutes

Mr. V. Gopalakrishnan B.E (Mechanical), MBA ( Operations) with experience in both Automotive Industry as Assistant Manager – Purchase and new Product development and in IT Industry as Subject Matter Expert for Oracle – e-Business Suite – SCM Modules. He has also conducted various training programs for corporate people and B Schools.

Participant Profile:  First line and Middle level managers from Supply Chain & Logistics function, Industrial Engineering, Material Management, Logistical Service Providers etc.,

Registration details

Participation Fee is Rs. 11,500 (per participant inclusive of all taxes). Fee is non refundable .

Organizations nominating three or more participants for the programme would be entitled to a 10% discount on total delegate fees payable. All discounts are valid only if the delegate fee is received before the commencement of the programme.

Pre-registration and pre-payment is essential for participation. Participation fee of this Non Residential program includes Tea / snack & Lunch for the 2 days and participant kit. Participation Certificates will be provided to the participants.
