The regulatory body had earlier regularised unapproved plots registered till 1989. CMDA has been given enough powers to regularise layouts which were created December 31, 1989 within in the city limits.

Also, the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department has issued an order to regularise layouts formed before December 31, 2007 within the limits of Corporations and Municipalities.
