HDFC ERGO General Insurance has launched Student Suraksha - Student Overseas Travel, a policy for Indian students who are planning to pursue higher education overseas or are already studying abroad.
The policy includes worldwide cover for students from 30 days to 2 years without any medical check-up requirements.
Policy provides cover against unforeseen expenses such as hospitalisation, accidental death, permanent disablement and dental treatment
The policy also provides additional covers such as personal liability, bail bond, sponsors protection, study interruption, loss of passport and checked-in baggage loss.
Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Member of Executive Management, Head - Strategic Planning and Marketing, HDFC ERGO General Insurance said, "At HDFC ERGO, we believe in nurturing talent & taking utmost care of the needs of aspiring youth. This policy can be bought by an individual between the age 16 to 35 years, who is a full-time registered student of an education course outside India.
The special feature of the policy is that it pays the amount incurred for the visit of one Immediate Family Member abroad in case of medical emergency or / vice-versa.
Mr. Mukesh Kumar further added that with universities abroad making health cover mandatory for overseas students, it is gaining popularity amongst students.
