Home insurance generally comes in the form of a package that covers not only loss or / damage to the insured property due to natural catastrophes or /  accidental damage, but also a host of add-on covers.

Generally, householders insurance policies cover the following:

^ Loss or damage to building, fixtures, fittings and renovations due to fire as well as other perils such as earthquake &  flood.
Loss or / damage due to terrorism can also be covered as an option.

 ^  Loss or damage to home contents, valuables, appliances (TV, fridge, washing machine, air conditioner, laptop), and also fragile items such as plate, glass and sanitary ware. Such loss or damage can be due to fire and other perils and also due to burglary.

^ Personal accident coverage providing for payment of compensation due to accidental death and permanent total or partial disability of the insured person.

^  Loss of rent if the whole house or parts of it become unfit for occupation following a fire or other perils such as flood or earthquake.
Some policies also provide for payment of expenses of additional rent for alternate accommodation.

^ Accidental death or theft of pedigree pets.

^  Loss or damage to personal baggage due to accident or misfortune while travelling in India.

Mr. B Subrahmanyam, Head, Health Vertical takes up additional role at Bharti AXA General 

Insurance . 

Bharti AXA General Insurance announced that Mr. Subrahmanyam is the additional role of Head of Commercial Lines & Risk Engineering at Bharti AXA 
General Insurance. 

Subrahmanyam was in charge of the Health Vertical at Bharti AXA General Insurance and is 
responsible for innovating, regulating and monitoring the Health portfolio which has grown by 50%. 

In addition to this he will now be overseeing Commercial Lines Underwriting and Risk Engineering  functions at Bharti AXA General Insurance.  

Prior to joining Bharti AXA GI, Subrahmanyam was with AXA Singapore, for 7 years where he was  part of the team in charge of developing Property and Casualty business through Broker and Direct  Channel. In 2007, he joined Bharti AXA General Insurance handling Commercial Lines distribution 
channels till Oct 2010. Subsequently, he has been responsible for building and developing the 
company’s Health Insurance Portfolio. 

Subrahmanyam takes over the additional Commercial Line role from Mr Balaji Cuddapah who has  decided to move out of Bharti AXA General Insurance.
