The Competition
Appellate Tribunal (COMPAT) recently adjourned the hearing till February
20, 2013 on DLF Ltd's appeal against Rs. 630 crore fine imposed by the fair
trade regulator CCI (Competition Commission of India) for abuse of its dominant
position.
A 3 member COMPAT
bench headed by its Chairman Justice Mr. V. S. Sirpurkar adjourned the matter
to February 20, 2013.
During the day long
proceedings, the tribunal heard the arguments from the counsel for flat buyer's
associations & Haryana government.
On the next hearing,
counsel appearing for the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) of the
state of Haryana would resume his arguments.
The CCI had imposed
Rs 630 crore fine on DLF Ltd in August 2011 following its inquiries into
complaints by flat buyer associations of
2 DLF Ltd projects in Gurgaon - DLF Park Palace and The Belaire -
alleging delays in the project and increase in the number of floors than
planned earlier, among others.
