Indian Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh and Congress president Ms. Sonia Gandhi have been named among the top 20 most powerful persons in the world by Forbes magazine in its annual power rankings.
Number One Mr. Barack Obama..!
It placed US President Mr. Barack Obama as number one for a second year in a row.
Ms. Gandhi dropped a notch from last year's (2011) list and ranks at number 12 this year ahead of Chinese vice premier Mr. Li Keqiang and French President Mr. Francois Hollande.
At the 20th spot is Mr. Manmohan Singh, the Oxford & Cambridge educated economist who is the architect of India's economic reforms.
Mr. Manmohan Singh had ranked 19th in the list last year. But, Manmohan Singh's quiet intellectualism is increasingly seen as timid & soft.
Mukesh Ambani..!
Indias richest businessman Reliance Industries Chairman Mr. Mukesh Ambani, at 37,and Arcelor Mittal CEO Mr. Lakshmi Mittal, at 47, also feature in the list.
Reliance Industries is Indias most valuable firm. It,however, described Ambanis support for disgraced former Goldman Sachs director Mr. Rajat Gupta as a low point for him in 2012.
