A 500
acre solar farm, an infrastructure facility to support bout 100 MW of
solar photovoltaic power generation capacity is to come up in Tamil Nadu.

Crore Project..!
Raasi Green Earth Energy Pvt Ltd will
set the Rs. 920 crore project in Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram District, South
Tamil Nadu.
An agreement was signed between the
Raasi Green Earth Energy and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation
(TIDCO) in the presence of the Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalithaa, Tamil Nadu.
The agreement is in line with the
State Government’s solar policy which envisages establishment of about 3,000 MW of solar power generation
capacity by 2015.
The long term plan in the State is to
encourage over 5,000 MW of solar capacity by 2023.
TIDCO will work with the private
sector to facilitate establishment of 1,000 MW of solar farms over the next 5
years as part of the solar power initiative in Tamilnadu.
PPP
Mode..!
This project in the PPP
(Public-Private Partnership) mode will provide adequate infrastructure
facilities including water, power evacuation facilities and developed space for
solar power projects. The objective is to facilitate investments in solar power
generation.The project is targeted for completion in one year (12 months).
Raasi Green Earth will initially set
up a 10 MW solar farm & has tied up with investors for the balance 90 MW.
The Raasi Green Earth 's release
quoting the Ms. J. Jayalalithaa, Chief Minister said, the State government will
fully support for the project and hoped that it will catalyse further
investments in solar power generation.
