About 20,000 visitors, mostly families from the
minority community, visited India’s first Muslim Property expo that concluded
Ahmedabad on recently.
Encouraged by the turnout, the organisers now
plan to hold similar community-specific property shows in Rajkot, Surat,
Palanpur & Vadodara.
The property show
organised by Ummat, a Ahmedabad based
web portal. It was the three (3) day event.
Mr. Ali Hussain Mohammed, Director, Ummat said,
“We were largely expecting people from the lower & middle class to turn up.
But we were surprised to see a number of upper class Muslim families
participating in the event. Though we do not immediately have the numbers to
share, but the event was also attended by Hindu families. They were scouting
for properties in eastern Ahmedabad”
Most of the projects
on display were from the minority dominated Juhapura & Sarkhej areas and
locations. A number of projects at Vasna, Vatva, Ramol & other locations
with sizeable Muslim population were also on display.
According to one of
the organiser, “Surat is the next town
we plan to go to. We will also be holding this event in Palanpur, Rajkot &
Vadodara in the next few months”
About 25 developers /
developers / builders, including those who operate in Hindu dominated
locations, participated in the property expo which showcased projects ranging
between Rs. 10 lakh & Rs. 1 crore.
