Construction Techniques: EAST & WEST, WHICH IS THE BEST?

Everything is diagonally opposite between the Eastern and Western cultures. There is no exception for the construction techniques also. The way of approach
differs entirely considering the time, labour, cost , effort and time to market.

Malaysian Mivan Approach

Though this is a Malaysian concept, majority of the buildings in India are built in
this way. What are the basics of this approach? Here, the columns of a structure are built first. Then beams follow. The third step is , the slab on top. Brickwork is undertaken finally.

This is not an economical way of constructing buildings. It will take anywhere between 12 to 15 month to complete the building. The cost of the building will be low but the time factor will eat away your profits.

Western Forms Technology.!

This method is relatively a cheaper one, even though it costs more. You can save a lot of time. Assuring delivery at the promised date is the advantage.
Your funds will not get locked for a longer time. That means more profit and less overheads.

The method of construction is also a novel one. First, they place aluminium
sheets on the sides of the proposed house. A mould of the house is prepared in this way.

Even the floor is included in the mould. The next step is to pour the cement into the mould. That is all. Finished. Now, compare the pros and cons of the two methods.

To beat the ever increasing cost spiral, the WFT will be more
beneficial.
