Doors: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What are these doors
made of?
These doors are made
of cold rolled steel. They are pressed into various shapes and designs to give.
you several elegant designs.
What are the
advantages of steel doors over wooden doors?
Other than the
obvious reason of higher security offered by steel, using doors made of steel
have the following advantages:
Environmentally
friendly
-
No trees are cut and
the steel can be recycled.
Very secure -
The sturdy steel
panels, frame & multi-point locking
system offers a much
better protection
against burglars, rioters & vandals.
Lower cost -
Steel doors cost
about 35 per cent the price of a hard wood door.
Fire resistant -
Wood can easily burn
if there is a fire. The steel doors are fire resistant & can withstand up
to onee hour of fire. Moreover, the rubber padding in the steel doors prevent
entry of fuel & smoke into the room.
Lower maintenance -
The wood doors expand
/ or contract with moisture. This causes "sticking" of
doors to frames &
misalignment of locks to the frames. Steel doors are not affected by
moisture.
Cleaning is easy. All
you need to do is wipe the door with a slightly damp cloth.
Sound insulation -
The steel doors and
the frame come with padding so that external noises
are isolated.
moreover, the door does not make any sound even when the door is slammed shut.
Wooden doors do not
have such features.
Easy installation -
Ever worked with a
carpenter before? If you have, then you will know the
hardships of getting
a carpenter to finish your door on time & to produce quality workmanship.
With these steel
doors, you know exactly what to expect.
Installing the door
only requires six anchor-fasteners to bolt the door to the wall opening. The
installation typically takes nearly two hours.
Is there a wood veneer over the steel? How do they look so realistic?
No wood or / wood composites are used on the surface.
These doors are painted using a special process & the paint is dried in an
oven for paint hardness and even texture.
Will the door rust?
The door will not
rust on its own. If scratches are introduced then the scratch must be covered
up
immediately to
prevent moisture from getting to the metal. This is very similar to how one
would take care of their motorcycle or car. As long as scratches are painted
over, the metal will not rust.
Is the door fire
resistant?
The door is made of
steel and is naturally fire resistant. The door is expected to stand up to a
fire for about one hour. The frame panel has a bushing to prevent entry of
smoke.
How do I install the
door?
Ensure that you have
a rectangular wall opening measuring 860 mm x 2,050 mm, 960 mm x 2,050 mm,
1,200 mm x 2,050 mm,
