The Indian Income Tax department will aim to issue faster & accurate refunds this financial year (2012-13) and introduce new taxpayer friendly services.
Newly appointed CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes) Chairperson Ms. Poonam Kishore Saxena had asked officials to ensure timely refunds & hassle-free services for taxpayers which are the major areas of grievance for a common man.
Ms. Saxena, who took over the charge of the top post of the IT department- CBDT on recently had also asked the department to effectively ensure the collection of the direct taxes target pegged at Rs.5.70 lakh crore.
