In an attempt to
shore up the sagging real estate business in north Coimbatore, private
builders, promoters & real estate brokers Coimbatore offered goat
& chicken during a special pooja at Edayarpalayam ShriVellai Munisvarar
temple on recently for their business to look up.
Thousands of
builders, promoters and developers, including brokers & staff from
Edayarpalayam, Kauvandampalayam, Saibaba Colony, TVS Nagar, Venkitapuram &
Vadavalli turned out in traditional white dhoti and shirt at the temple
complex.
The devotees offered
about 130 kilo chicken, 100 kilo goat meat, 1,200 eggs, 325 kilo rice to the
deity and sought divine intervention to facilitate another real estate boom in
Kovai. After the pooja, about 1,500 members had a sumptuous non-vegetarian meal

According to builders
& promoters association coordinator Mr. Kalimuthu, compared to last year
(2011), the real estate business was dull this year (2012).

added to the overall cost of buildings. Hence, there is a glut in the market in
Coimbatore, also said Mr Kalimuthu.
He informed that they
had spent nearly Rs. 4 lakh on this special pooja to help revive the market.
Mr M. Mohanraj,
Coordinator,Real estate brokers association. saidm ;“Now, more than 80
individual houses, including commercial complexes & bungalows, are yet to
be sold in north Coimbatore. We are planning to meet Coimbatore collector
