According to National
Housing Bank - NHB data, home prices have risen by up to 10.5 per cent in 16 major cities of our country in the
month of April to June (2012) period, while only three towns had witnessed a
marginal fall.
NHB 'RESIDEX' tracks
the movement in prices of flat - residential properties on a quarterly (3
Month) basis since 2007. The NHB RESIDEX now covers 20 cities.
The maximum increase
in flat prices was observed in Pune (10.5 per cent) followed by Bengaluru
(8.7%), Patna (8.6%), Ahmedabad (6.4%) and Ludhiana (5.3%), Lucknow
(4.1%),Mumbai (3.7%) Delhi & Kolkatta ( 2.6%), Bhubaneshwar,Bhopal and
Chennai (1.7% each), Surat and Guwahati (1.2% each) and Vijaywada & Kochi
(1.1% each).
Sametime, flats
prices declined in Jaipur by 2.6 per cent, Indore by 2.4% and Hyderabad by 1%.
Flat prices in
Faridabad remained stable.
