Real estate developers and promoters in Kerala have come together once again at the CREDAI Property Show that got under way in Kochi on Friday with the theme “Emerging Kerala, boundless opportunities.”
CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India) is the industry body that represents real estate property businesses across pan India with a membership of about 9,000 builders, developers and promoters
The property show will be on till Sunday - August 5, 2012 at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium grounds, Kaloor.

Mr. M.V. Antony, President, CREDAI - Kochi said, ''A boom in real estate business is just waiting to happen. A combination of factors have made this festive season ideal for buying houses, especially for NRIs (non-resident Indians)"
This is the bonus season in Kerala, and with the auspicious month of Chingom just a fortnight away, the property show hopes to attract the NRIs coming homing to celebrate Onam.
There are many factors that have added to the optimism among the builders and developers. The first reason is that property business has not been in an upswing over the last year. It is expected to pick up momentum any time. Another one factor is that interest rates are expected to come down in the near future.
Houses in India 20 to 30% Cheaper..!
To this can be added the depreciation of the rupee against foreign currencies, which makes houses in India 20 to 30% cheaper than when the rupee was at a higher level.
Mr. Paul Raj, Joint Secretary, CREDAI - Kochi, said,''The younger population who have gone out of the country for work over the last 4 years must be now looking to buy their own houses now. The combination of factors makes it the ideal time to make their choices. About 40 builders participating in the property expo, the house buyer has easy access to a variety of choices. The buyers will be able to meet in person & interact with the builders and developers, which otherwise will be an onerous task."
