As the concept of
growing one’s own food catches on in Mumbai, Urban Leaves is preparing a
host of activities for avid gardeners in the city.
On August 26, 2012,
World Kitchen Gardener's Day will be celebrated at Maharashtra Nature Park. The
focus of the daylong celebration will be to inculcate a sense of conscious food
habits encouraging people to grow their own food and be aware.
Besides this, participants
will also be taken on a tour of the Community Food Garden which Urban Leaves
has been maintaining at Maharashtra Nature Park.
There will also be a
demonstration at the venue on how to grow a herb on your own window sill
followed by a discussion on the concept of Recyling.
A cooking competition
related to the preparation of a traditional Shravan vegetable will also be
held. All this ends with a sumptuous, healthy & vegan lunch.
